Here are some of the more regularly asked questions:

Do my pets require vaccination and what vaccine is best?
YES - All pets that visit MUST have a current Vaccination (within 12 months) and we will need to sight the up to date certificate from your veterinarian. FDM provide a healthy, clean and safe environment for your pets and in order to maintain this your dog must be immunised with a minimum C5 vaccination (Distemper, Parvo Virus, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza & Bordatella) otherwise known as a C3 + BB or C3 + KC.
All vaccinations need to be administered at least 10 days prior to checking in for boarding to ensure full protection for all animals in our care.

How do I know if my pet meets these requirements?
Your vet will be able to tell you the status of your pet’s vaccinations over the phone. Ask your Vet for a ‘proof of vaccination’ and ask them to email us at [email protected]

Where will my dog be accommodated at FDM?
FDM has a large garden with secure and safe fences and gates. There is an indoor dog rest and lounging room and your dog will be sleeping indoors as part of the family. You are welcome to visit to see for yourself. Please make an appointment.

Will my pet be well sheltered from the elements?
Yes, as a registered Domestic Animal Business we meet all the codes of practice requirements, ensuring your pet will be warm or cool as Melbourne's weather suggests. Outdoor shelters and indoor comforts just as you would expect and provide at home. Comfy beds and cuddles always fresh on hand.

What about feeding?
Please provide your own choice of food for your dog. FDM can provide fresh cooked food on application & there are always  treats as per your approval.

My pet has a special diet. Can you cater for this?
Please bring your pets own food with you. If your pet has a specific diet I will ensure that diet is adhered to at all times. I ask that you tell me all I need to know about how to care for your pet just as you do at home.
 
My pet requires daily medication, Can you make sure they receive this?
Yes. I can deal with the medical needs of your pet. Please be very clear on the forms to indicate all your pets needs.

Can I bring something from home for my pet like bedding or toys?
Yes – you may bring in items from home but we cannot guarantee they will be returned.
FDM happily provides all the bedding your pet will need, with plenty of blankets and cushions. For the older or arthritic pets there are always a few extra covers to keep them cosy. FDM feel strongly about providing clean bedding, bedding is laundered regularly.

What time should I drop off or pick up my pet?
Pets can arrive or depart any time BY APPOINTMENT.

What if I can’t make it within the opening hours?
Please make an appointment.

When is payment due?
We require payment to be paid in full upon check in. Please pay with cash. We accept cash or bank deposit.

Do you have a cancellation Policy?
Peak season bookings, all public holiday weekends, Christmas & Easter are to be secured with a 50% deposit. Should your plans change we offer a credit so you can transfer to another time.

What are Fairy Dog Mothers vaccination requirements?
Yes - All pets coming to Fairy Dog Mother must be up to date on their flea and intestinal worming treatments.
You must provide proof of your pets up to date vaccination status before check in. All dogs must be vaccinated with a C5 vaccination.
All pets must be a minimum of 10 days clear of their last vaccination.

If my dog is undergoing medical treatment or has recently been ill can FDM look after their medication regime?
Yes – But you need to provide any current medication that is to be administered to your pet throughout their stay with us, including any special dietary requirements they may have.
